Meet the team

THEPEOPLEBEHINDTHESIGNAL

A small founding team. One product. One country to start. The conviction that every person deserves coaching that genuinely understands them, and the engineering discipline to back that up at scale.

Why we built this

Coaching shouldn’t be a luxury.

The pattern across two careers in leadership and learning was the same. The people who most needed an outside ear were the people who never got one. New managers. Pastoral teams stretched thin. The young person who would never raise a hand in a survey but would talk to a quiet listener at 11pm.

Traditional coaching costs thousands per person and reaches a handful of senior leaders. Wellbeing apps reach everyone and meet no-one. Neither approach was going to close the gap by itself.

We built Poyntr because the engineering had finally caught up with the conviction. A coach that listens across text and voice. A safeguarding pipeline that keeps the conversation safe without breaking it. A platform that scales without compromising the thing that makes coaching work in the first place: someone who actually gets you.

The founders

Three people. One product.

The team Poyntr was started by, and the team that ships every release. We will name the people behind every line we hold. We will not list advisors who have not actively contributed.

Co-Founder & CEO

Co-founder with twenty years of experience in leadership development and organisational change. The conviction behind the REWIRE Framework. Leads the company’s direction and the principle that every decision Poyntr makes has to serve the person on the other side of the screen.

Phoenixx

Co-Founder & CTO

Co-founder and technical lead. Engineered the platform end to end. 149 behavioural safeguarding detectors. The real-time safeguarding pipeline. Per-user envelope encryption. The voice path that reads emotion as it happens. The Pulse aggregation pipeline. Holds the architectural line on what the system will and will not do.

Co-Founder

Co-founder with twenty years of accelerated learning practice. The belief that coaching should reach everyone, not just the few. Holds the line on tone, character, and the specific feeling a young person gets when they open the app.

What we’ve shipped

The receipts live in the codebase.

The bios above make claims about engineering and shipping. This is what those claims point at. Each figure is verified against the live code. We do not list customer counts, revenue figures, or press coverage on this page.

149Behavioural detectors91 adult-tuned, 58 youth-tuned. Across text and voice.
19Institution typesIn one measurement framework. Secondary to PRU to hospital school.
9Calibration profilesStandard, PRU/AP, SEND, hospital, boarding, child in care, asylum-seeker, young carer.
8Public Pulse endpointsNo authentication. 60 requests per minute per IP. k=50 anonymisation.
  • Per-user envelope encryptionKMS HSM tenant KEK to per-user data-encryption key. Keys live in a UK-region key management service.
  • HMAC-chained audit logEvery access entry is hash-chained to the previous one. Tampering breaks the chain. SIEM-exportable.
  • Crypto-shred erasureRight to erasure made cryptographic. Destroying the per-user key makes the data permanently unreadable.
  • Continuous safeguarding pipelineLive critical-risk codes checked every turn. Full detector batch on session close. Voice parity with text.
  • Aggregation pipelinek-anonymity at k=50, differential privacy at ε=1.0 Gaussian, 4-week rolling smoothing, suppression with hysteresis.
  • Pulse public API8 endpoints, no authentication, 60 req/min per IP. Methodology JSON served live alongside the data.

Each figure is verified against the live codebase. We do not list customer counts, revenue, awards, or press coverage on this page. The work is the receipt.

How we work

What we do, and what we will never do

01

We ship safety first.

No coaching feature reaches production until the safeguarding pipeline that sits underneath it is verified end to end. Crisis fixtures are clinician-shaped before any character that uses them ships. The detector count grows; the floor never moves.

We don’t demo what doesn’t work.

No staged screenshots. No Figma mocks dressed up as features. If you see it on a marketing page, it is in the codebase. If it is in the codebase but not yet operational, the page says so.

02

We measure ourselves.

Every safeguarding-pipeline change is benchmarked against the previous version. Every prompt change carries a variance test. Methodology is versioned, dated, and visible to anyone who wants to audit it.

We don’t take credit for outcomes that are not ours.

Wellbeing improvements happen because pastoral teams, clinicians, and the young people themselves do the work. We are part of the toolset, not the cause. We will not claim a school’s outcomes as our case study.

03

We name what we are.

A small founding team, one product, one country. We tell new partners what we have shipped, what we have not, and the specific commitments we will hold ourselves to. Those commitments are the page you are reading.

We don’t pretend to be bigger.

No fictitious team page filler. No advisors listed who have not actively contributed. No customer logos we have not earned the right to show. Nothing on the surface that the receipts in the codebase do not support.

This isn’t a team page.

It’s the contract we hold ourselves to.
